Chairs for my balcony

There is this wee balcony in my new flat, roughly 1,5mx3m, probably even not that big, with a door in a middle of one of the long sides. It doesn't really give me many opportunities to go crazy with a dining set or couches but instead I'm just probably going to have one or two cool chairs, a small table and some flower power!
I'm kinda crazy in love with rattan (at least I think its called rattan) chairs and the more decorative the better!
Have a look at these beauties!

Found this one on Ecochic, again very far from home, but I will keep looking closer to home backcountry Finland

Ah! my poor heart just aches for these two!
And guess what is my biggest let down "style steal"-solution...!

Ikea to the rescue (as usual)!
I might give it a coat of turquoise paint and voila! My version of skint man's Peacock chair!
Well nowhere even close really... :D
Will post a picture once I actually go and buy one!

"lamping"

Who said the beauty of a lighting fixture has to be in the lamp shade?

Check out these gorgeous specimen from Rockett St George!

So having the light bulb in my mini hallway!

I smell a DIY project coming!  Thinking of designing my very own sticker!
Hmmm, gotta go explore some sticker paper or whatchamacallit! Gotta have some around, even in Finland!

Love it!

Crazy in love with this Glass Milk Jug!

Also found a similar in another site that delivers to Finland, you can find it here.

Hell's kitchen...

...Out with the old, In with the new!
Sorry for the terrific quality shots! I just realized last night I didn't have any pics of the "hell's kitchen" before it is demolished and brought to 21st century. So me and my phone rushed to the flat to immortalise the 70's shocker! Enjoy!

The floor, door and window are going to stay, but I'm sad to announce the collection of 3 different tiles  on the walls, droopy draws and cabinets, sink, oven and fridge are going to relocate to the dump. Yeah!

The new kitchen should be up and running in few weeks so I'll be back with a kitchen update soon!

Making the most of small spaces

You know before I bought my tiny flat of 31, I was going to buy this diminutive flat of 24 square meters. And my brain was adamantly wrapped around the idea that I wanted a sofa and a bed, separately (and a small dinner table and office desk and not feel crowded...). Yeah I know somewhere along the way my sense of reality had quit and been replaced with a megalomaniac...

But during my search for the impossible I came across these space saving tips and i just think they are genious! They are a bit long but def worth it for the innovators and engineers in you!

The second video is how I would've done it by the way ( or I mean my dad would've).

Kind of makes you wonder how much space one truly needs and after watching these I feel I'm truly spoilt for space in my tiny flat!

Inside Out

With a special fondness for the land of Down Under and it's side kick NZ (don't worry kiwis I think NZ is like the greatest country in the world..) I decided to dedicate one of the first post to one of the best interior mags  I know: Inside Out.

Inside Out is like the one special record you have and you like all the songs on it and not just few :)
But subscribing it all the way to the periphery called Finland would definitely at this stage break my already poor debt ridden back...!

But enough with the free spurring already! I chose these pics from homelife.com.au, the home of Inside Out just to demonstrate a bit what kind of decor tickles my design eye :)
So go check it out, you won't be disappointed (and subscribe and make me jealous).

Welcome aboard!

Sofa welcomes everyone to sit along and enjoy the wonderful world of interior.. And exterior design!
Sofa loves all things innovative and DIY from banana box chandeliers...

...to container houses

And to more conventional interior design...

Here Sofa can share all her crazy ideas and likings and not get the looney looks from friends and family ;)

And what's more sofa has recently entered the world of eternal slavery for the bank and bought her first very own tiny flat!
Consequence: Whole lotta interior design in the horizon!

Ps. Don't pick on my anglais skills too much, it's not exactly my native language of yapping!
